Lisa, as our new treasurer, will be part of officers’ meetings. The following statement is what RFCU needs in order to update our account signers: “The officers of the Rocket City Modern Quilt Guild are directing Redstone Federal Credit Union to add the name of our 2017 treasurer, Lisa C. Cox, to the account. We ask that Deb Richey’s name be removed from the account. We are leaving Diane M. Lyles on the account for the transition period.” This coincides with our wishes. Trina, our new webmaster, will serve as a committee chair. In Trina’s absence, Amanda reported that Trina recommended that we stay with Weebly, and the officers concurred. Trina will update the website when the new logo is ready. It was agreed that pictures of charity and Show-and-Tell quilts be uploaded.
Retreat signup is low. The Georgia guild showed interest from only 2 members. Mary will contact the Athens guild, and the Madison Station Quilters will print our retreat information in its next newsletter. Mary will also get RCMQG on 3 Hens and a Chick’s list of local guilds.
We agreed that the officers would meet regularly the last Sunday of the month at 1892 at 10 AM.
Amanda reviewed the survey results. 13 members returned the survey. We will concentrate our activities on the top 10 items for Programming and top 3 for Fundraising. Rachael will pursue charity blocks/quilts; Amanda will follow up on fund raisers possibly using Zazzle; and Lisa will look into programs.
We have a contact (a friend of Trina’s) who will produce our logo for us free. Since Amanda has experience making logos, she will pursue this venture with the regulations from our national guild in mind. The officers reviewed logos of other Modern Quilt Guilds to provide guidance to Trina's friend.
