Monthly Question: Do you spray base or pin your quilt sandwich? Current challenges are the greeting card swap, bag your stash, and gift-ables challenge. The pincushion swap will be hosted at S&R Sew and Vac in Huntsville. There will also be drop off tables for challenge items and tables to pick up and exchange charity projects. Officer meeting had an in dept update on charity program, and explored safety provisions for the retreat. QuiltCon Together registration is open. The sew-signment sale will be rescheduled for next spring. QuiltCon Community Outreach quilt fabric has been ordered, cut, and kids have been dispersed. Sew-cial Saturday will continue. The dyeing workshop has been rescheduled for August 29th and will be virtual.
Amanda, Kelci, and Diane were present for the meeting. Fabric was purchased for the QuiltCon quilt, but no other activity. The audit is still in progress. Diane would like to continue forwarding mail to her home adress, the officers agreed this would be reasonable. Amanda and Kelci are making updates to the documentation regarding duties of the VP and Secretary/Web Social Chair. The officers discussed the August meeting with Kerry so she has time to prepare for the planning session. The giftables challenge will be the inspiration will be the focus for the social media posts this month. Analytics from Later are helping understand what types of posts may be most helpful for the auction later this year. The current charity block will remain Playful Pinwheels, and the block kits for the QuiltCon quilt have been distributed. Programming still has two empty slots for September and October. Three challenges are open. These are “bag your stash, pincushion swap, and the giftables challenges. The last Saturday in August has been confirmed for the Dye workshop. The officers discussed safety precautions. Officers planned a Drop off Pick up day for the pincushion swap. Members will be able to drop off challenge items or pick up charity projects while dropping by. Amanda will email and confirm with S&R.
