The question of the month was “Would you rather have more time to sew or more money to buy fabric?” The overwhelming response was more time! There were 13 members in attendance. The audit is complete. Officers are updating the documentation of roles and responsibilities. QuiltCon submissions will open in September, and sign-ups for the mini swap open in October. Fudraising is considering a calendar to sell. Charity will keep the block of the quarter playful pinwheels. Pillowcase kits and embroidery for personalization are available. The Quiltcon COQ is ready for Quilting. The parking lot pin cushion swap was successful, another may be in the works for an October auction drop off. September’s Sewing Saturday will be pushed back to the second Saturday because of labor day. A new challenge will be issued tonight. The “made Fabric Challenge” is to make a mini or mug rug with pre-altered fabric. Examples of this could include pieced scraps, dyed, painted, stamped, screen printed, fabric markers, hand stitching, bleach, pin-tucks, flower pounding, etc. Elections will be before the September meeting to help with the hand-off process. Programming on guild structure and overview included the website moving under secretary’s duties which leaves the social media as a stand-alone chair. Donations will be moved from programming to the vice president’s responsibilities. This is representative of creating a guild liaison with this position, an spreading out responsibilities in a more manageable way. Amanda condensed the survey results for the discussion on guild priorities. Learn skills, do good, and make friends were discussed at length with many ideas shared and discussed.
