The following informational updates were provided:
- Guild Communications: Newsletter, website and calendar are current
- PayPal: Beverly continues to work to reorganize the account so it is in the name of an entity instead of an individual
- Membership: 32 members; with 3 members who have paid National MQG directly
- Community Outreach: No new pillowcases or quilts delivered to agencies
- National MQG: Quarterly leader meet-up is scheduled for 08/12/2023
- Secret Stitcher Getting to Know You: Final questions sent out to participants
- Meeting Locations: Board members to update spreadsheet with possible meeting locations
- Other Guild Contacts: A spreadsheet of other guild contacts has been started
- Retreat Updates: The chef abruptly cancelled the catering; Pam and Lori will work on planning shared meals; final count is 13 people, 5 at home and 8 in person
- Mini Swap with Pensacola MQG: Completed, however virtual hellos were brief due to technical issues
- Monthly Financial Report: Banking account information reviewed
- Sewing Saturday Location: We still need to find a location for the Sewing Saturday events; do not believe Publix is an appropriate location as they cannot give us confirmation until a day or two prior to the Saturday; discussed looking at library to hold events and it was decided we could start booking now for 6 months in advance
- Meeting Programs: August program with Tory Padden is confirmed; Pam and Debby are providing comments to Tory on her presentation; September will be a postcard design competition; October is to be determined; November is budget and elections.
- Collaborative Color Challenge: Decided to move this challenge to January 2024; instead will substitute the UFO Glow Up Challenge to take an orphan block or UFO and finish it to donate to the auction; submissions are due at the October meeting
- Celebrate Quilting Event: Committee meets immediately after this meeting; need to push advertising the event
- Volunteer Sign Up Process: We still struggle with getting members to sign up for volunteer projects
- Website Redesign: On hold
- Fundraising: Discussed establishing a donation line item on the guild website that will remain up year round; minimum donation is $10, then $25, then $50
