We donate sewn pillowcases to the North Alabama Foster Closet and coordinate with them to personalize them for the children currently in foster care.
Pillowcases should use fabrics appropriate for children. Please do not use religious, holiday, or scary fabric. Pillowcases will have the child's name embroidered on the cuff. To keep the name readable, cuffs should be made from solid or tone on tone fabric. You may use any method you wish to make your pillowcase. We do ask that the inside seams are reinforced by serging or with French seams to better withstand repeated washing. Click the icon to see a recommended tutorial which includes French seams. |
Our guild collects and sews quilts to donate to our local St. Jude's affiliate clinic at Huntsville Hospital. They serve children from 0-18, so we strive to provide a wide variety of styles, fabrics, and designs. Novelty prints are perennially popular. Please do not use religious, holiday, or scary fabric. Larger sized quilts should be aimed at older kids.
