Debby lead a program on Member Goals with members breaking into different Zoom rooms to discuss the following topics: (i) What is your quilting goal of the year?, (ii) What crafty thing do you want to learn this year?, and (iii) What WIP/UFO do you want to complete this year?
Amanda reported that the 2023 Leadership Retreat was a grand success. Members were reminded to renew their membership before the end of the month. Members were informed of a new volunteer process that will be implemented this year. Sign ups will be by task using a Google form. Further information will be sent via email and tasks will be posted in the newsletter.
Amanda noted that the national MQG website may display an expired membership card. Members should not be worried as national MQG provides a grace period and as soon as the guild pays the national dues, the expiration date will be current.
Amanda and Danica provided updates to QuiltCon, including: (i) in the Group Bee category, “Ray’s Georgia” by Diane, Cathy, Glenn, Pam and Laura; (ii) in the Community Outreach Challenge category, “Migration”; (iii) Danica is planning a meet up/schedule coordination; (iv) the guild will invest in small logos to add to your QuiltCon name badge; (v) Bisa Butler has a quilt displayed at Spelman College, and (vi) Black Women Stitch, the producers of the Stitch Please podcast, is hosting “Sew Black” at QuiltCon.
