Amanda reviewed the current guild events, including: (i) October 22nd - Sew Day at Calico Cove; (ii) October 29th - MQG Webinar Study Group - “Cutting Accuracy Beyond the Mat” by Elizabeth Ray; (iii) November 3rd - Board Game Night (Island Escape Room); and (iv) November 5th - Community Outreach Work Session.
The guild welcomed Lorinda Davis of The Quilter’s Planner to present the program, “Making Time to Do the Things You Love.” Members were reminded to use the coupon code in the newsletter to obtain a discount on The 2023 Quilter’s Planner.
On leadership updates, elections will be in November with positions changing — Committee Chairs will now be Vice President positions and have been consolidated. The meeting agenda has been streamlined; programming will start the meeting, with Sew & Tell at the end. Updates will be in the newsletter only. Announcements and reminders will be discussed at the meeting.
On the National MQG front, members were reminded that QuiltCon quilt submissions are open through October 31st and the Leadership meeting is on November 14th.
The QuiltCon Community Outreach quilt is in progress. Members are invited to sign up to quilt portions of the quilt.
The Fundraising Committee noted that we have received a lower amount of items this year.
Sew & Tell, Transparency Quarterly Challenge, and the Secret Stitchers Swap of Coasters presentations were shown.
