Each officer reviewed their upcoming responsibilities for October:
- For Vice President, Danica reported that she is working on sponsorships and partnerships; and the MQG Leadership meeting is scheduled for November 14th at 7:00 PM.
- For Treasurer, Adrienne noted refunds have been issued to member for the Carolina Onetto workshop. Additional tasks to be completed include monthly report, audit of old business, and pending retreat reimbursements.
- For Secretary, Pam noted that the website is current; the October newsletter was distributed to members on October 3rd.
Amanda noted the DEA&I Committee discussed a new member login issues at the National MQG website; the issue was referred to National MQG for resolution.
Ongoing guild events were discussed, including: (i) Bingo - Adrienne sent out Q3 Bingo cards; (ii) the September Lone Robin design element is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle; (iii) the October 29th MQG Webinar Study Group is Cutting Accuracy: Beyond the Mat by Elizabeth Ray; and (iv) Board Game Night will again be the Island Escape Room but has moved to November 3rd.
The officers discussed reorganizing the general meeting format so that committee updates are moved to the newsletter, then the meeting progresses as brief reminders, program, guild business/drawing, and sew & tell. The website was also discussed, including removing the workshop information from the payment page, and providing all calendar items with links. Finally, the holiday party was discussed, to be held on December 13th via Zoom. The officers noted that the guild will try to do more in-person events next year, including setting up ‘watch parties’ in different areas of town so members can gather, yet still offer Zoom for non-local members.
The officers discussed the elections for next year, and will do the annual member survey in December before the leadership retreat.
