The following informational updates were provided:
- Guild Communications: Newsletter, website and calendar are current
- PayPal: Beverly continues to work to reorganize the account so it is in the name of an entity instead of an individual
- Membership: 32 members
- Community Outreach: 36 pillowcases delivered to North Alabama Foster Closet in May
- Secret Stitcher Getting to Know You: First responses sent out to participants
- Meeting Locations: Board members to update spreadsheet with possible meeting locations
- Other Guild Contacts: A spreadsheet of other guild contacts has been started
- Retreat Updates: As of 05/31/2023, there are 8 registrants for in-person and 2 for at-home; members signing up for meal service have been contacted
- Mini Swap with Pensacola MQG: Suggested that RCMQG members would join the PMQG members at their July 8th meeting to foster friendship and have a mini swap show and tell
- Monthly Financial Report: Banking account information reviewed
- Password Management Program: Decided to take this off the To Do List
- Community Outreach Assembly Day: Still need to confirm with Publix on availability; storage unit has an ironing board, table risers, ruler; participants should bring a cutting mat; Amanda will bring the Zoom box; Linda advised that we will be putting quilt kits together and work on finishing up quilts at various stages of completion
- MQG Challenge: The consensus was to send out a survey to membership to see if there was someone willing to lead the quilt design and sewing; limited to the first 80 quilts
- The Sew-Signment Sale: A total of 12 sellers have registered; the guild needs flyers distributed; board members are to contact places on the list to determine approval/interest in posting flyer
- A Serger Workshop is confirmed for July 29th at Calico Cove
- June Program: Debby advised that Ben Darby does not charge for his trunk show; possibly ask Lisa to do a presentation on how to prepare a quilt for a long-armer
- Potluck Party: Remind folks to post photos on Slack
- Volunteer Sign Up Process: Continue to ask for volunteers to sign up via the form; bring printed copies to the meeting for folks to sign up for volunteer projects
- The Celebrate Quilting subcommittee will meet next week and report back
- Website Redesign: On hold
- Insurance Quotes: Pam motioned to take $400 from the guild savings to pay for the business liability coverage; Debby seconded; Membership will then vote at the June meeting; the business liability insurance is designed to protect and defend the guild from covered claims alleging that the guild damaged someone’s property, injured them or defamed them
- Community Outreach Yearly Totals: Amanda is gathering community outreach yearly totals both historically and on a going forward basis; we are missing totals for 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019
- Grants: Danica presented a Women’s Philanthropy Society Fund grant for consideration; it was determined that the guild would not quality, but we should continue to look for grants for an arts organization
