The following informational updates were provided:
- Guild Communications: Newsletter, website and calendar were updated 10/04/2023
- PayPal: Beverly continues to work to reorganize the account so it is in the name of an entity instead of an individual
- Membership: 41 members
- Community Outreach: Ten new quilts ready to be delivered; 3 new pillowcases completed
- National MQG: Quarterly leader meet-up is scheduled for 11/13/2023 at 7:00 PM
- Sewing Saturday’s will return to in-person starting in January at the North Huntsville Library
- UFO Glow Up: Due at the October meeting; using an orphan block or UFO, finish it into an item to donate to the auction
- Workshops: Quilt coats, collage technique and t-shirt class as possible workshops for 2025
- Collaborative Color Challenge: moved to January 2024
Next, the officers discussed operations issues, including:
- Monthly Financial Report: Financial information was reviewed; Redstone account charged fraudulent amount; the board discussed possibly moving to a different financial institution
- October Meeting: due to several board members being unavailable, the board voted to cancel the October meeting; instead, the guild will have a social/drop-off event on October 21st at Stovehouse from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
- Holiday Party: The board decided to hold the annual Holiday Party on December 12th; year-in-review, member gifts and 2024 Board Members will be announced
- Meeting Programs: November program is budget review, elections, and auction review
- 2024 Board Elections: Several members will need to rotate off the board in 2024; Amanda asked each Board member to review and revise their position descriptions; Board members reviewed current structure and discussed requesting members chair certain events; the Board discussed alternating years for the Sew-Signment sale and the Celebrate Quilting Event
